THE DREADED FLIGHT

It wasn't so bad. We paid extra (I saved so much making my own neck balls) to fly SKY giving us extra leg room. We had a bulkhead seat with tons of room.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY

THE GOOD
  • They gave us a mask and earplugs, warm cloths, free drinks, etc.
  • The safety film was full of unexpected humor like live animals, kids and other funny stuff.
  • The attendants were very nice.
  • Great legroom and could move around, get bags above without disturbing anyone.

THE BAD

  • I ordered a Margarita, using the Tequila that was advertised on the plane. Attendant said "Oh looks like we don't have any Tequila".
  • I couldn't get wifi above 10,000 ft. Asked the attendant and she said, "Oh, there's no wifi on this plane". Bummer - I was planning on working on this blog.
  • Announcement came on that said that tv's beyond row 35 were not working so they would "look in the manual after dinner is served and would have to shut down the entire system for a while and then reset." I hoped all other systems were working.

THE UGLY

  • You are sitting on a plane for 9 plus hours,
  • it's noisy,
  • it's vibrate-y and the body starts to ache, even with excellent hand-cratfted neck balls.

And We're Off!!!!

Here goes. I took this at the Missoula Airport. I guess we'll go from Cowboy hats to French berets.

In Salt Lake we ate Greek fast-food but my Spanakopeta was good. Actually it was really cold so I asked the girl if it was supposed to be eaten cold and she said "Is it cold?'

Ok, Isn't everything in Greece hot, especially George Cloony (Is he Greek?)

We only saw one pair of "Los Testicles" so far. That's what those nice boys are called in Chile- always 2, looking pretty much alike. Ah that Chilean sense of humor! They have nicknames for everybody.

And in that same vein, I made myself some balls for this trip.

I Cut a pillow like that above in half, spilling tiny white, sticky styrofoam balls everywhere. I duct taped the openings closed, stuffed each half in an orphan sock, tied a knot, and safety-pinned them together with another orphan sock. After much adjusting I think they might work - with my mask, earplugs and knock-out pills. I hope I don't go into the galley an start cooking!

Packing Jewelry

I'm packing my jewelry by putting items in small ziplock bags and then I'll put them all in a bigger ziplock. Those jewelry bags are cute but I can never find anything and they take up so much room.

I know these posts are boring but I'm trying to learn how to use pictures before I go. We leave today and I didn't sleep much last night because I was worrying obout not knowing any French. My Bad. I should have been "brushing up". All I remember is "tete" because I use that in crossword puzzles.

Yesterday, I looked out the back and there was a Bald Eagle soaring close to the house. The only one I remember seeing was on the Fourth of July several years ago. I grabbed my phone but alas, too late.

The Beauty of Home

Well, the thing is, there are fewer places more beautiful than my Montana. I took the sunset last night from my front yard.

So lovely a sight!
